Removing hood louvers
I see alot of people have broke the mounting tabs off of louvers when removing. How do you get them off without breaking so car can be painted? Thanks

I am also wondering this issue. Mine are in great shape, except that like you said, I dont want to deal with broken studs afterwords. Can Anyone help on this issue??
I would also be interested to here the magic answer for this topic!
It seems if you try taking them off very slowly and steadily it helps but sometimes they just end up breaking anyway. I have taken these off so many cars and I still cant seem to do it on some without breaking them.
Good luck guys!

I'm not sure that removing the louvers is possible without snapping a stud. Like the rest of the plastic under the hood, time and heat have made them fragile. Many cars have the problem without a wrench ever having touched a stud. When I replaced mine (yes, several studs were missing), I lubed the studs and was careful about not torquing them too tightly--I also close my hood gently, which 'may' be helpful, since three years have passed without breakage.
