What are our seats made of?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what material our seats are made of. Not leather ones of course! I have an 85 Z28 and it's the cloth interior. I'd like to buy some dye to colour them, but I need to know what material they are so I can be sure to buy the right one.

Thanks,

Si

Si,

If you've got the red seats they're probably velour. But you said you had "cloth". My original seats were houndstooth cloth, but my replacement covers are black velour.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

UK89,
I think you may be right. I just went and bought an interior from a damaged Z28. It's blue, and a helluva lot nicer than my red in the look-and-feel stakes. It's just so much softer and comfier, and I think it'll go with the purple bodywork a little better than the red.

Oh, BTW, WOOHOO I got a new interior!

That's better,

Si

FInding American car parts in Britan must be hard. I bet there are more British cars in America than vise-versa.

My question is this, did MG build the rust into the cars when they were new?
