door repair

has anyone sandblasted their doors before when doing bodywork? I thought I had them stuffed solid but sand STILL got in there and stuck in the grease of the window tracks. Now you hear crunch crunch crunch whenever you use the power windows.

Can anyone with experience in this situation shed some light on how to get that sand out. I really don't want to remove the window and track assembly because I hear that is near impossible.

And it's coming up to the hot season....I need the windows working!!

Could try using WD-40 to wash the tracks out then put new grease in them. Just an idea.

A shop vac, or compressed air should do the trick. I'd blast the tight spots with the air and then vaccum up.

yeah, i was thinking of trying the air thing again (i did it the first time when I put the doors back on - before I new this was a problem). The only thing is that there is hardly any access to the window tracks from the back of the door!
