Map Light Problem

I have a dilema with my map lights i didnt realize until awhile ago that i had map lights i tunred them on and they didnt work, so i replaced the lights still no go. Then i figured out that the connecting wire and been cut, why this was done i dont know? I have one end of the plug in which i just found out as i removed the headliner but can u still buy the end the plugs into this piece??

P.S the wire was cut right at the back of the rearview mirror there isnt any extra wire to work with so i think i would have to take the entire mirror apart, im not even sure if its worth it.

Thanx in advance

If you want to go thru the trouble.

I went thru the same thing when swapped my rear view mirror with one that had map lights. What I did was first carefully take apart my mirror cause whoever cut it cut it way too flush, I then found wires of the same gauge soldered them while making it longer. Two things I did different was I used heat shrink to cover the wire from mirror to ceiling and then used a quick disconnect cable connector hidden in the headliner in case I ever need to remove it.
