Camaro glovebox; option or aftermarket
Snapped this glovebox at a recent UK event, I didn't even know they existed. Was this an option, or an aftermarket piece?
EDIT : Sorry, meant to post on Body and interior. Would one of you kind Moderators be so good as to move it there for me.

I'd say aftermarket. It looks like the one Classic Indrustries has for our cars. You don't happen to have any more pictures of that glove box do you?

Hi Paul,
irocfan has one in his Z28 too. Very rare, but also very cheap and badly made...... I'm happier with just the centre box. The Corvette C4 had them similar to that IIRC.
Cheers,
Felix

Sports cars only have 2 seats, like vettes,vipers, cobras, and shelby mustangs, camaros are sedans. That's why it was originally called the trans-am sedan series.

Sedan = 4 door
Coupe = 2 door 4 or 5 seats.
Roadster = 2 door, 2 seat.
Ford = Crap
Sportster = Anything fast.
I do not like those glove boxes.
It screams "This is where I keep my revolver" which really isnt a bad thing.. but it doesnt fit.
Everyone knows you keep your handgun under the seat anyways.

I dont think they are rare if you can buy them at classic industries.Maybe he meant rare to see in a camaro.I thought they mounted in the dash some(have to cut)but I see they just sit on the outside.takes away that roomy feeling when sitting on the passenger side,I think.

I feel like a freaking Newbie, resurrecting a 6 yr old thread!
I looked around trying to see WHY I was in a 6yr old thread to begin with, since I hadn't been doing a
today.In my defense, here is how I ended up in that 6yr old thread, so don't blame it on me for resurrecting it!

Link to a post from TODAY that led me to it.....

Re: Camaro glovebox; option or aftermarket
Quick semi-correction, and only because it was something I learned about recently. While these days we take for granted sedan = 4 doors, its not entirely true. Sedan, with some older cars, meant the car had a frame around the door glass, as opposed to the frameless windows you see on third gens. Some vehicles were available as 2-dr sedans. So yes, you are right by today's standards, but thought I'd share a little interesting tidbit.
Re: Camaro glovebox; option or aftermarket
