Headliner and other misc interior ?'s

I have been doing searches for like 45 minutes now and not really found what I've been looking for.

Here goes...

First off, my current interior is red... My wife and I stongly dislike it. We found a rear seat from a '95 Camaro that is the black and gray style. Its in pretty good shape and the J/Y only wants $35. Sound like a deal? Question is, how easy are the front gray/black seats to come by? I'd hate to buy the rears and never get the matching fronts.

Second, I'm in desperate need of a headliner. I went to the J/Y and found a '92 Firebird head liner w/ TTops. My father in law owns an upholstry shop and is going to see if he can use it as a pattern to get me one... If not, where can I buy the plastic or even better, the fiberglass backing? I heard YearOne sells em?

Also, sooner or later, I'd like to change my interior to black completely. Most of my interior red plastic peices are in good shape. Is there a spray paint that will work very nicely with the plastic or am I better off finding some J/Y black ones?

Finally, the carpet... I'm going to be looking for a black carpet kit. Anyone know who sells em, how much they are, and if they are complete from front footwells to the rear truck area?

Almost forgot... My car's center console is missing a LOT of the hex head screws that are used to hold the console parts on... Does anyone know where I can get exact replacements?

ANY HELP on the above would be appreciated.

I'd say $35 isn't a bad deal, but I don't know for sure how hard it'll be to find a match. I paid a little over a $1000 for my complete set. Check eBaymotors.com, they always have them for sale. Are thest the ones your talking about?

For the headliner, ebayMotors.com is also a good place to find those, they're brand new, ABS plastic and already covered in your choice, that's where I got mine.

I have heard of a new paint, called Fusion, do a search for it and you may find what you are looking for, Some how it's supposed to chemically bond with the plastic making it extremely durable.

Again, eBayMotors, the same people that sell the headliner also do carpet. It's a full set front and rear. Also it's pre-molded. Just unbox it, and let it sit in the sun for a day or two to soften up, then install. I think they go for $199 plus shipping and tax.

And as far as the console, I would say the junk yard is your best bet, or again eBaymotors has them listed every once in a while, they have several consoles but no screws. Sorry, couldn't really help on that last one.

That Fusion paint is great, I used it on the interior of my Thunderbird after I replaced some panels. It dries nice and even. The plastic only needs to be cleaned with soapy water and there's some kind of spray you hit it with before the paint. I forget the name but is made by Krylon too. It makes the paint bond with plastic. It also comes in alot of different colors so your not limited to the basics. It's stood up to a lot of abuse in that car with two kids constantly jumping around back there. Eventually after i finish the 4th gen interior swap I'm gonna freshen up the rear plastics with it. As for the headliner/carpet, check with Hawks, and you can always find them on eBay.

I just ordered an ABS plastic headliner kit from FBody Motorsports (fbodymotorsports.com) that looks promising. Can get the same thing from Hawks. They have great seats and seat covers, too. Good luck to you.

Parts Interior

If you are looking to save $$$ on interior search the net, and search the junk yards, but tkae your time or you'll pay way to much. I am also going to the J/Y or u-pull it. I found that taking my time in searching for parts has saved me $$ and yeild some good advise. Some yards are hard to find. Look in the classified ads under car parts, ect. Sometimes a J/Y will not be listed in the phone book. There is a member who has a huge selection of interior parts, he can be found in the BODY AND INTERIOR section. I think the link says something about inventory or parts. good luck
