I Got Some 4th Gen Seats And Now I Have A Question
How do you make the 4th gen back seat seat belts work. Since ours only had the lap belt and the 4th gen has the shoulder belt. Where do you anchor the other side, and will the seat belt holding spool fit in place of ours?? If you have pics it would be a big help. Even just pics of the back seat of a 4th gen so I can see how it looks. Thanks alot Jason

First of all, why can't you use your original belts?
Secondly, I think that thirdgens got shoulder straps in '88. I know that my '89 had 'em. The interior plastic trim pieces had a box moulded in to them to fit the belt spool. Since your interior doesn't have those....the easiest thing would be to use thirdgen belts. I'm thinking that maybe your original belts are the wrong color? If that's the case, I'd buy some new belts in whatever color you wanted.

89 was the first year for the rear shoulder belt. If you want them that badly, you can pull them out of an 89+ car, but I believe that you'll need to weld the mounts into place.
The easy way to handle this is to just unbolt the brackets from the rear seat upright, and make a little plug to put in its place.
