Custom 'vert problems
Custom 'vert problems
Car left in rain with top down for like 5 mins, top wants to keep going down afterwards. Thought it was just a short, disconnected battery, and started it next day. Top goes up fine, but won't go down (I have to push manually). This continues for like two weeks, but now the top wont go up either. I can pull it up, but it can't latch it because the motor gives it that extra push. So now I can't drive it with the top up (please no rain!). Is this a possible short, or is my motor just gone bad? And how would I go about finding out?
And is there any way I could just somehow cut out the motor and make it a totally manual top? I dont think pulling the thing is that hard, its only working against the motor that is.

You may want to check out the electronics board it sounds like an electrical problem. I don't think most of us know the first thing about electric tops on third gens. This is only like the second one I have heard of.
