2 ?'s about factory buckets
From my '86 SC donor car. It had been rear-ended hard, and both seat backs were laid back flat and wouldn't stay put. I'm assuming somebody was sitting in each front seat when the wreck occurred, and their body mass caused the seat back latches to break (haven't taken them apart yet). They still fold up and back, just won't stay in place. Anyone seen that before?
2nd question: Think they'd be too nasty-looking in my '57? The original bench seat has really deteriorated, and I don't want to spend several hundred getting it back into shape right now. I have these buckets, and if I can get the backs to stay put (they don't need to work for rear seat access), it would be cheaper just to put them in for right now.
Any thoughts/opinions? I'm more of a "go" guy than "show", and fashion isn't my long suit by a long shot.

Not to sure about how to fix the original hinges, but what I would do is go to the local you pull it yard and get another set of hinges off of another car. They only have 3 bolts holding them on per side after you remove the four plastic screws holding the covers on. Simple and fairly easy to do, I took two front buckets apart this weekend for storage, five minutes per seat.
Not sure how the buckets would look in the 57, I would mock them up and see if I liked it, and then go from there.
