Parking light mod?

My front parking lights are fogging up alot and i was going to cut off the lens and put a new lens on it. I have ONE smoked headlight cover (lost the other on the highway) and was wondering if i was to make the lenses out of that old cover would it be legal? At day time it would be dark (cause it is smoked), and at night it would show up right? i have the titanium bulbs (very bright when using blinkers) in there so i know that when i have the parking lights on they are the normal brightness and once i put a signal on theyll light up alot. Do you think itll work? and be legal?

The legality is probably questionable.

But, what you described sounds like it would be noticeable anyways.

It will really only pose a problem with cops if it is a blatently obvious illegal mod.

as with any questionable mod like that.... its at the discresion of the cops.

technically, its not legal... the lense needs to have a DOT approved marking on it......

but i have never heard of anyone having that checked... lol.

But I HAVE checked that. Especially on cars like the ones on 2 Fast 2 Furious, if you know what I mean.

As a cop, I would have to tell you to check your local laws.
