Overhead Console Wiring

Here's the thing I installed a overhead console in my TA. I got it from a junker & it had 3 wires & the ground. I installed it & everyting works fine. But a few days ago in the same junker I see another overhead console & I notice that this on has 4 wires & the ground. & I wonder what would this extra wire would do? does anyone knows????

I think one button turns on my dome light, the other turns on the map light. on some models I think the first button turned on all the interior lights the extra wire grounded the circuit and acted like a door opening...
