Installed Megashifter, now car won't start

Ok, installed my megashifter today. Wasn't as "bolt-in" as B&M makes it out to be but nothing I couldn't handle.

Heres the prob. I wired up the neutral safety switch and reverse switch. The reverse switch has the blue / light green going to it, and I wired the purple / yellow wires to the safety switch. From what I had read, hooking up the relay wasn't a neccesity and I was going to do it tomorrow. So I make sure everythings hooked up and that the switches are getting activated when they should be. I put it in park, turn the key, it starts turning over but will never fire over.

It only turns over in park and neutral like it should but I'm not getting any spark.

Any ideas????

More of a message for the trans forum, eh?

Wire up the relay, then see what happens. P/N switch only locks out the starter motor, nothing else...

Ok, I don't know why I said it but I meant to say fuel instead of spark in my original post.

When I turn the ignition on, the fuel pump does not kick on like normal? It is just a strange coincidence that it did this right after my shifter install or what.

Thanx,
Herb

Also, there was a "switch" in the console that I did not hook back up. It looks like one of those freezer door locks or the lock on a coke machine.

I tested both wires and neither of them gave a signal while cranking or when the key is turned on. I believe it was part of an old alarm that is no longer hooked up.

It has been a long time since I have installed my shifter. But I don't think I had to wire in anything with the fuel pump. All I know is those darn $9.00 realys went out on me. I went through 3 of them, then I got mad one day and when it burned out I thre it against a brick wall and busted it into about 30 pieces. So I got on the phone with my girlfriend to tell her I would be a little bit late picking her up, while doing that I put the relay back together, plugged it in and the car has started everysingle time after it. (Knock on Wood!) The cover is all cracked and funny looking but it still works.

This may sound dumb. but look on the instructions and see if it says anything about the colored wire that leads to the fuel pump. If it does then you may not have it wired right. If not look for a 12v key ignition switch and hook it up there on the shifter.
