Spoiler Brake Lights
Spoiler Brake Lights
I have to replace my brake lights in my spoiler - except I found out the were $10 (Canadian) each!!!
What other cars used these lights (So I can search at the wreckers for them)?

What are the wattage of these bulbs?
I was at Lowes and saw they had them there too, but they had 2 different kind. I think they were 10 or 20 Watts.
I wasn't sure what the original bulb was, so I didn't get any.
I think they were only a couple bucks there too.

Radio Shack package has this:
Bi-Pin base
12-V DC 20 Watts Halogen
Ideal for Automotive use.
$1.97 ea + tax
Sure beats GM dealer's price of $15.00 and it is a direct replacment. I keep two extra ones now as spares since they are so cheap.

I tried 3 of those 10 watt halogens. There very bright & get VERY hot.It warped the lens on my 3rd brk light. So i used a 194 style bulb.Just pulled back the 2 little metal prongs(see pic)& use a peice of shrink so that it overlaps the bottom of bulb the plastic socket on the light housing. This will hold the bulb a little better so it doesnt fall off.Works very well although occasionally the bulb will work itself out & stop working.I may solder the prongs for better retention..
