Opinoin on racing seats.

I went to pepboys the other day and they were selling 3 R racing or somthing racing seats.

You were able to sit in a few show models and I really like the feel and look of one of them. It was black and red and would match the black and red in my car pretty good.

I own a 1986 Z28.

I just wanted to know what every ones opinoins are when it comes to putting racing seats in 3rd gens, do you guys think it would be cool to have them or just plain tacky?

I will be doing an entire engine, tranny, rearend swap this winter but I havn't had any plans to change anything in the interor yet.

I don't know what those seats look like but I think that racing seats look awesome in these cars. Search a bit because there are several here running nice racing seats.

I am currently trying to decide if I get a custom recover of the GTA seats or get a nice pair of Corbeaus.

Have fun with it.

I checked out those seats at my local Pep Boys a few weeks ago. I wasn't crazy about them for the following reasons:

1. No mechanism to fold the seats forward. If the seats don't fold forward, no one can get into the back of your car.

2. Cheezy reclining mechanism - you have to keep turning a **** on the side of the seat. Pain in the butt.

3. The seats are not available without the hideous 3A racing logo on them.

Just my observations. If you want affordable aftermarket seats, check out the link below.

I never have liked the way those kinds of seats looked in thirdgens. Personally I think original GTA seats or fourth gen seats are the only way to go.

Well those look a bit better than the Pep Boys seats, but at $130 (for the pair?!)I have to wonder - how good could they be? Plus look out for his $115.00 shipping charge.

I just got a pair of the seats below to replace my aging Formula seats. I've seen a few of our cars with 4th gen seats, and I guess I wanted something different. Car Craft used these seats in an interior restoration project they did on their own 88 Formula, and I liked the way the finished product looked. My total shipping charges on the pair to my house: $18.45 Thanks Summit!

I tried looking for aftermarket seats locally, with no luck at all. Oh, except for Pep Boys.....hehehe......

he can sell the seats for that price, and then do such a high shipping price when he probably doesnt spend 30 bucks having them shipped......so he is making the rest of the money off the shipping. so ya think maybe like 220 for the pair would be what he may be aiming to get....

I liked the two tone color I could get with the ones from pepboys. I didn't realize they could fold. I'll have to check that out.

Thanks for the advise...please keep it coming.

summit seats have no brackets unless noted in the add, that pretty much goes for anywhere you by the seats from. some do some dont, go to summit and find the seat, they will tell you if they do or not.
