2" cowl enough?

Is a 2" cowl induction hood enough to clear a performer rpm airgab intake on an 87 firebird? I really don't want to use a 4" cause it seems to be a bit overkill.

It should be plenty. What hood are you planning on getting?

One of those harwood fiberglass hoods from summit. I don't know if I should save the extra $200 and get a lift off, or I'd be better off getting the normal one.

Just get a normal one. The lift off's are a pain in the *** and the hood pins look like crap. BTW, I didn't even know harwood made a 2 inch cowl hood. I thought the one in summit was a 3 inch?

I thought they only made 4" for firebirds, but I was on summits site a while ago and they have 2 and 4.

I just bought a Harwood, their site says 2", the little booklet that I got with the hood with the same part # says 3", and it measures a little under 3 inches.. I also agree 4" is too big.. This one I think could use a touch more height to it, but eh I think it'll look fine..

EDIT: I found the site. Thanks for the info. Got any pics of the hood on your car?
