Headliner

Have an 86 Camaro.
Got an headliner from the salvage yard. They cut the seat belts to get it out.
Headliner does not have slots cut in it to slide the belts in from the sides and I don't want to cut any.
Has anyone taken the belts loose from the mounts before, if so please share how this is done.
Thanks.

'82 didn't have slots cut into the headliner because they had a single retractor belt instead of the 83-92 belts with dual retractors.

Headliner

The headliner came out of an 85 Camaro.
Went out after I posted this and took down the upper seat belt retractor and found out the only way to remove the strap is to take out the stitches then restitch it.
Guess I will have to make the cuts.
Thanks.

It should be okay with the cuts, anyway. The seatbelt trim will cover where the slit is in the headliner. And it's a LOT easier than taking the whole seat belt mechanism thing out or whatever... Hope it works out for you.
