headlight problems

ok my buddy has a 91 gta he called me and asked me if i knew why his headlights wouldnt come up. here is the problem...he said he turned on his park lights and they all came on even his dash lights then he turned on his headlights and they didnt come up but they came on he said he could see the light under his car. he said he just had a motor replaced within the last year. he also said that he turned the switch on and off about 10 to 20 times and then they finally came up. could it be the inside switch going out or what??? any help would be appreciated.

thanks
phil

fairly common for the headlight door module (black box attatched to the firewall on the driver's side) to go bad on these cars.

Go to the junk yard! When my lights went out the headlight door module was the first thing i went to replace. $30 at the junkyard as compaired to around $150 new. I wouldn't be supprised if it is the motors though. I had 3 go out in less then a year. Whoever decided to have a plastic gear threaded with a metal one in the motors should be kicked in the nuts. The easyest way to check the motors in to manually turn the **** and lift the lights.
