from a junked car

a friend of mine had his spoiler blow off when he was "testing" his new motor in his vert.....

after a long search, he found the only way to get one at a reasonable price was from a junked car..

luckily another friend of mine was shaving off the spoiler of his vert off, and could sell it to him.

good luck on your search.

the verts have lil "caps" that cover the ASC cut marks.

molded into these caps are the edges of the spoiler......

you would have to grind thoes down and fill them for it to look right.

Im the friend Travis is atlking about. I pulled my Stock vert spoiler off and I pulled the wing of my 92Z.

Mmm guess what Im doing.

Its alota work to make them side caps look just right with the 92Z wing but its well worth it.

I still have my stock vert wing. ragtop never bought it.

Not mine but a Pic for you guys

The original convertible spoilers are extremely hard to find, especially the 1987 (one year only and very low production).... Junkyards are the only place I know of.

The car in that pic....is the trunk still functional on it? Doesn't look like it would be.

Yes it is. the 92wing only screws down on the 2 center posts.

also if anyone would happen to have a trunk lid or know of where to order one that would help alot. mine is rusted right around the bottom edge at the back. i coukd probably fix it but it'd be easier to replace

Hey all I have that spoiler and I also have a bad Converible wing on my rag top. I have been wanting to do the exact same thing. Question is the outer post have to be cut down to sit on top of the Converible side molding. What can be used to cut that clean enough to look as good as the pic.

TPI383 is actually doing it....

but i would imagine that cutting most of that off ( i think its fiberglass), grinding it flat, and filing the hole with fiberglass is the way to do it...
