fill a 1/2 inch hole

I know this is probably a dumb question but, I am removing a fuel mount from under the unit body. I have three 1/2" holes. can I just put silicon over them our should I put a bolt (with rubber washer) into them. What are your suggestions. I don't want it to rust!

thanks,
phil

What fuel mount from under what unit body? Have any pics of what your talking about? If you removed something from the body sheetmetal that won't be going back, the best method we've found is to stick a brass block on the opposite side of the hole, and then weld the hole shut. Then grind it flush and paint it. The brass acts as a temporary backing since the weld won't fuse to it.

you could buy some body plugs from autozone just like the ones used from the factory or get some from the J-yard i know ford uses them extensivly in the trunks of their cars

a little off topic, but how's your car going matt? any progress?

It's doing great

I posted up a bunch of new pics on this board last night. There's a little body work left, then paint. My dual exhaust should be done by sunday. I'll make sure to get some sound clips up
