Quick question: Will other model gauge cluster work?
Quick question: Will other model gauge cluster work?
I need a quick answer please. I need to replace the white plactic circuit board that the gauges mount to. All my gauges are good, so those don't matter. So....can I replace the gauge cluster with one from any other year/model and mount my gauges on it? OR, can I replace it with another model and mount my 145mph speedo in the other one? OR, do I need another 145mph cluster out of an '88 Iroc to work properly?
Thanks!

You can use any gauge cluster from a V8 Camaro from 82-89
The V8 guage cluster uses a 60PSI oil gauge.
Where as the V6's use a 80PSI gauge.
Also on some of the V6's used the worst gauge design ever. Idiot lights. There is no tach, or any other gauge with a read out except for a gigantic fuel gauge. The oil, battery, engine temp gauges are lights on those clusters. Dont even bother with getting one.
You can swap gauges on a V6 and V8 cluster. Thats what I did for my cluster swap. I used a V8 cluster and put in the V6 tach and oil presser gauge. In your case it would be the oppisite of what I did.
The fuel, battery, and tempature gauges are the same so you dont have to swap them out.
