For some reason when I stomp the pedal my choke fuse pops and the light comes on. I dunno if this is affecting how its riding at all. (doesnt seem like it) but I was wondering If I could just remove the bulb in that damned light or remove some kinda wire so its not on. Im tired of driving at night and seeing that damned lit up choke light. plz help

also how would I go about getting to the bulb or wire? Instructions?

hmm i would look for the problem that is making the light come on.

rather than hack the wires and bulbs, choke light should be telling you something is wrong.....

 

Get your alternator tested. The choke light is actually the alternator light.

 

As strange as that sounds you're right about the connection to the alternator. This fall, I had the same problem with the choke light coming on in my 82 Z-28 and after checking the wiring of the choke, it turns out that the alternator was going bad. The regulator was eratic as all get out. Had the alternator repaired and changed the main power wire terminal that hooked to the back of the alternator and the problem was fixed.

Choke light comes on when your alternator belt snaps, too.

 

I dont think its my alternator? Ive been driving it for over a year and I start up fine. My battery hasnt died on me, and such. I mean I could really be wrong...But if it was the alt. wouldnt it not want to start up or something or give me bad volts. Cuz Im pretty sure I get good volts, + I have a sound system in the trunk. Keep in mind that also the fuse for the choke only blows when I rev up the rpms when driving. If I put the fuse in and drive normal it usually doesnt blow and the light doesnt come on. I do have to hold the gas a little in the morning to keep it started but only for about under a min, then it idles fine.

Ill update if I find out anything, till then Im stuck with looking at that damned light lit up....

Check the main terminal that hooks up to the back of the alternator. If the terminal is getting weak at the point where wire goes into the terminal it can trip it also. Mine wasn't broken but it did have some broken strands at the base of the terminal which would cause resistance on the line. Also make sure the wire for the choke itself is good and not weak which would also cause resistance.
