145 mph. speedometer swap

Just wondering....... I would like to install a 145 mph. speedometer in my 85 sport coupe, it has the lame a** 85mph. speedo in it now. Will it read correctly, or do I have to do any mods?

I swaped my speedo for a 145mph speedo, n chunked the original ....unfortunately you do have to modify it, unless your like me n say to hell w/it...my gauge reads about 20mi.off ex.(actual speed limit"30"I roll at "50") for what mods. to do I'm really not sure I just wanted to lose the old one..looks alot better now though.

Should be a straight swap, assuming that the 145 speedo head is cable driven. My advice is to swap only the head instead of the cluster. That way you're assured that your guages and lights are functioning properly. Also, consider swapping in some xenon 194's for better brightness or perhaps some white-faced overlays. The new speedo head should rear correctly and require no recalibration.
