What have people done to fill in the gaps between the carpet and a 4th gen console? I've got a 97+ in my car and theres a noticable gap under the rear two cupholders, and in the front under the passenger cupholder.
I was thinking of cutting out some foam molds and gluing them underneath the carpet... but I wasn't sure how good this would look and wanted some input.
Thanks!

Heh.. you're not alone in your idea. I just made a blob using 'great stuff' expansion foam sealer to carve up for fill under my console. I'd tell you how it worked if I could ever get as far as getting the console back in....I was thinking of cutting out some foam molds and gluing them underneath the carpet

i was planning on doing the foam thing. But the differance is i have my 97+ console in a 94, and it still fits bad! I never got to it and decided to take it out and sell the car. the foam sounds like a good idea though

What kind of gap? Do you mean you can see the floorboard in the gap? What about pirating some of the "extra" carpet that's hanging out underneath your rear seat's seatbottoms? One 13mm screw and the rear seat bottoms come up (velcro holds the back), and then you could take a sharp pair of scissors to what's under there.
There's also (if I remember correctly) some thin carpet strips to be had under the rear side panels.
Hey doesn't ACC (auto custom carpets, http://www.accmats.com ) still give out free carpet samples? I wonder how big the samples are.
Well look at that, they still do. Find your exact color in their "cut pile" listing, then call 'em and tell them you're thinking of changing your car's carpet to that color.
