putting 91-92 z28 high rise spoiler on 86 iroc.. what od u need to do?

putting 91-92 z28 high rise spoiler on 86 iroc.. what od u need to do?

well.. subject says it all really.. im getting 91-92 stuff for my car, but was wondering what all has to be done to get the spoiler on there. im sure drilling a hole or 2 is required.

You'll have to weld all of the holes up in the rear decklid and on your rear quarters. Then grind the welds down, add some bondo, and finish. It really isn't a hard job if you have the right tools. And you'll have to dirll like 6 holes....or, if you could get ahold of a 91-92 Z28 rear decklid, you wouldn't have to drill any in your deck lid....

Yeah I'd find a used 91-92Z decklid and go from there,you may want to restore your car to original condition later.

That and your holes will be lined up far better... don't wanna do all that work, stand back and see its off-center

If you are going to restore it in the future....

The only thing that I would do different when filling the holes from the 3piece spoiler is not weld them.I'd bondo them so when the time comes to restore it all you have to do is punch out the bondoed holes from the inside.Then you won't have to go through trying to re-align the 3piece spoiler on the body.
