B&M T handle question

Would there be anyway to just add a B&M T-handle know to a 700-R4 tranny? Is a company that makes any burshed aluminum type t-handles for our cars? I have the stock shifter **** on my 91 Z28 and I would like a new **** to look like the B&M or Hurst T-handle type.....does anyone if if this is possible or if any company makes any nice looking t-handles with the button built in??

I drilled a 1 inch hole in the bottom of a B&M T-handle and it fit right on the stick. I had to disconnect the detent cable from the shifter though, so I could get the key out. It was OK but I decided to order a Hurst Dual Gate from Jegs, which will work a lot better.

where is the detent cable located? I wouldn't mind trying it out just to see how it looks...

It hooks to the shifter and gets pushed in when you press the button. You have to disconnect it.

Yes, it is a cable. If you remove it from the stick, you no longer have to press the button to move the shifter. Also you prevent the key from being held in once you lift the clip at the top of the shifter housing and re-adjust the cable so it is always pressed in. The T-handle looked bare on the stock shifter, so I removed everything attached to the bottom of the shifter plate to make room for a shifter boot, as done by another member.
