Single or Two stage paint from factory?
SO I almost went back home, grabbed my glock .40 and went back to NAPA to give the paint kid the 1,2. Just kidding, no NAPA personel were harmed in the previous statement. Anyway, I was going to paint my fiberglass hood last weekend, got my RPO paint code for my 1991 1LE (81U) and went to NAPA. I have no idea nor does the dealership if my car was single or two stage paint? I would think it was two stage in 91 right? How can I tell?

If you have you service parts id tag, you should see in the lower left corner, BC (or just C)/CC or DIS LAC. That wil be base coat (or just color)/clear coat or dispersion lacquer (which stopped in the mid 80's I believe, don't quote me on that though). It will be found on the same plain as your WA (paint color) number
(ie: BC/CC________________ WA= L0848 U0848 A7372 (omit underline spacing))
