scratches in spoiler
I got new hatch to replace my smashed one with. Its off a '86 TA. It has the rubber spoiler on it. The spoiler has some scratches, looks like some one tried writing there name in it or something. Can this be sanded out? Or can new paint hide it?
Thanks
Matt

unfortunatly no. I dont own a digital camera and the hatch is at my house, I'm at college right now. I can get pics when I get home again, but I dont know when that is cause i cant drive the car until i fix it.
The scratches arent horrbly deep, its basically through the paint and barely into the rubber.

well since its rubber you have a few choices. Sand the rubber and fan it out. Or buy a rubber bumper repair kit at a parts store ( autozone I know they have it but Im sure any other will) and fill the scratches with it and then sand. But Look under the spoiler if the spoiler frame is rusting you will only have a little time b4 it starts to warp and crack.

My old one was the regular spoiler, the straight flat one that has the downturned ends.
Its bent up now though cause of the accident. And i do like the way the other spoiler looks on the TA's.
Thanks,
Matt
