How to mount hood louvers

i finally was able to get a hold of a set of hood louvers for my camaro. I bought the Z-28 hood almost a year ago but it didnt have any louvers. Anyways i got them off ebay and they dont have anything to mount them with, I noticed the plastic studs on them but i dont know what to use to hold them down. What can i use and where can i find them?

They are held on by small metal speed nuts. Maybe someone will be able to provide a picture to better explain what it is. A hardware store MIGHT have it but i would doubt it. You might be better off going to the junkyard and pulling a busted door panel off a thirdgen and taking the speed nuts off the upper trim to door panel peice. I beleive they're the same size.

FYI Be REAL careful installing them, the studs break easily. Use a speed driver/nut driver to install them. Dont over tighten them. Ive removed a few sets and they will break if your not careful.

I agree with MikeH. I think that because the factory overtightened the nuts and that because people tend to slam the hood, the studs frequently break. I was careful in installation and I always ease the hood down, and as a consequence after three years or so, the studs are still in good shape. By the way, the original speed nut has a swab of sealer to prevent leaks.
