Slow power windows?!?!?!

Man these things are soooo slow. Does anybody elses do this? Was this a stock speed? Also what is the switch in between the two window switches for? Just curious. I push it and nothing happens. Is it for the hatch? BTW it is an 89 camaro RS.
Thanks alot-Joe

YES, the switch is for the hatch. If it's not working you may have a bad hatch motor or a fuse blown. Or, someone may have replaced the console and you never had one in the first place.

cool i think it was switched. It has it listed as a 3.42 gear ratio and at 70mph it is turning around 15-1700 rpm. I think its the 2.77 gear what do you think??

I'm assuming you found an RPO sticker in the console (mine was in the rear hatch compartment).

Copy down all your RPO codes from the sticker----run them on one of the handy-dandy RPO decoder programs and see how the listed options match up with your car. The color codes should be a dead giveaway, along with maybe the engine code (compare to VIN engine code).

ok results are in..... AND...... I do not have a 2.8l 5 speed like it says.. I have a 5.0 700R-4 like the emissions sticker says. So it is wrong. And second of all i do not have a blue car like it says...... I have a victory red car. next how do i go about finding out what my rear end gear is. Do i turn the driveshaft once and see how many times the tire turns??

My first thirdgen was an 89 rs, 5.0 TBI. The rear end gear for most of these units was a 2.73. At 80 the tach would sit at 2000 rpm's. I'd have to say that your car is probably still stock, with nothing being done to the rear end. May I suggest if you decide to change the gears, do not go above 3.42 for you little 305?! I went with 3.73's and the car was off the line in a hurry, but I lost all power between 2nd & 3rd gear.

Well i know this motor isnt stock. It has been bored 30 over, it has an LT-1 cam, Headers and other bolt ons. But the motor only has 12,000 miles on it. I was thinking it wasnt a 305 but a 350 because this thng pulls sooooo hard throught the rpm range but has no lower end. It feels like my S-10 did that had nitrous that ran a 14.0@95mph?!?!?! Who knows. I will be getting a 3.42 posi disc setup in mid may.
