whats the deal with these?

hey guys i was hopeing someone could tell me how those little vents are holding on the carpet? they are only in camaros and located just beside the stereo. i want to give them a good cleaning and possible paint job but i dont know if i should just yank them off or what. how are they held there, it almost seem like they are glued there.

Engine: Pos 2.8 pulled and replaced with a 350 tpi motor converted to carb.
Transmission: 700r4, vette servo,shift kit, hayden 15"x8" trans cooler.
If your talking about the vents in the consol that the head unit is in they are in firebirds also. I dont know if they come out but maybe you can clean them with some compressed air.

If you are, you can either clean them with a Q-tip or you can remove them as mentioned earlier. They are held in place by small metal cap nuts. Remove the shifter cover plate and you can reach them. be careful removing the cap nuts as the studs are plastic and easily breakable.
