my shift ***

hey guys, i'm new to the forum. I had a question. Ok so is there anyway that i can take my shift *** off? i have a 1988 chevy camaro V8 305 TBI. Thanks

Welcome. You'll find that little search button up in the upper right of the forum menu is extremely useful. Saves topics from getting asked a lotta times over and over again. Is your car manual or auto? If its manual, just unscrew it, counter clock wise. If it's auto, if you look in the front of it, you'll see a little slot. Stick a small screwdriver in (flat head) and there's a little metal clip that you gotta pry out, pretty easy to do. Once that's out, it pulls straight up and off. If its the first time removing it, it may stick a little, but it'll eventually come off. It's easy to see the slot if you put it all the way back to drive 1.
