The thing that amazes me is that it seems every one of these wrecks the people in the car survied the wreck with few (from what I would expect seeing the picture) and some time no injuries. Makes me feel good about my car. Just one thing that I have been told about these cars if you have time to do so before you hit something pull you feet back or the pan will mess up you feet.

But then the accident is going to be your fault, and your more likely to be injured.

Ice, Salt, bad tires + me being an idiot = tree . The car is fixable but the frame was never good on it, as it has been wrecked before, so we got this

And we are going to swap over my 84k miles driveline parts into the 154k mile perfect body and frame new formy Ill post updates when we start to swap parts, in a new thread

happend in january.. was travelling hella-fast with passengers in car... tire locked up while braking a bit (i'm a dumbass).. hopped a curb, hit a speed limit sign (45mph)... it was a HUGE sign. It was so big, two poles were holding it up... the sign came up to my elbows, when i'm standing straight up. I'm around 6feet tall... we ripped it from the ground.. I guess it was good though.. the sign stopped us from hitting a tree just less than 10 feet...

Actual damage isn't bad.. the front end just seems busted up, the hood is a bit smashed on the front, where the poles hit.. the headlights are really out of whack, and the front end of the car seems to be tilted, or bent inward a little bit.. the engine still runs, and everything, though. It doesn't look as bad, now that the rain has washed everything off.. slowly collecting parts to fix it up.

If I remember correctly, I think that happened on the Prince William Parkway about 10 mins from my folks place in VA.

I saw something like it in the newspaper a good while ago.

Here's mine. I don't know what happened to cause the wreck since I blacked out in the accident, but this is after hitting a building. AFIK, I was doing the speed limit, went around a corner and lost control. Jumped about 8 feet in the air, missed a pole but hit a building. I assume I swerved to miss a deer or something.

Before the wreck:

Thats why I don't move swerve much when there is a deer infront of me. I would rather hit it and replace some parts up front then risk totaling the car, and being injured. So far they have gotten out of the way, luckly.

Nope, no clue. I had a concussion and don't remember the last few minutes or seconds before impact. According to the doctors when I was in the hospital, that's common. So, I don't know if I swerved, or my tires let go in the turn, some other mechanical failure, or just what happened. I wasn't drunk or anything, just so no one assumes that I was.

How 'bout some good news?

Okay, I tried to post a second ago, but my pic was too big and I lost my post. Here's the deal, my car was totalled. It was worse than LedZeps earlier post. I sent it off to WV and had it fixed. Then I missed my driveway and hit pretty hard underneath, but no damage. (thank you SFCs) Then I hit 2 delineators on the hwy going 70. It's in the shop now getting a new bumper cover.
My whole point was that these cars are darned resilient!
So here go the pictures this time around....

Here I am at the track. Don't ask me what my times were, come to find out I was running on a bad O2 and MAF. I've yet to take it out since it's been fixed...but that ram-air kit gave me 3 extra mpg. (well, plus thermo and fanswitch.)

The passenger cabins hold up well in the thirdgens. Knowing this, seatbelts are a must in my car!

I've been in the situation more than once where someone wants to go or my adrenaline pumps up and i want to go... but I look at the situation and let it go. If it's slick, if it's wet, let the race go. I love to race, win or lose, it's a rush and fun. But i'll let one go if i don't feel comfortable.

From what i've seen though, a lot of nice cars were destroyed because of another person's stupidity. The sad part is they lose their car and have to pay for yours, but it's very unlikely that they've poured their heart and soul into their car. they just can't pay for that with cash!

well thats nothing compared to what mine looked like when I got it. It came with a smashed front end which someone in the line of owners replaced with a Berlinetta which I didnt figure out until later. Then a tree or something fell on it because during body work I figured out that 90% of the pillar which the windshield sits on was made of body filler so we had to cut it off and make are own. The glass hatch was broken and glass filled the interior. Somehow large amounts of water got in the car because the carper was soaking wet when we took it out and when doing that we figured out there were rust in the floor boards and in about 12 other areas of the car.

I wish 3 things would happen to theese cars: take car of them, scrap them, or just leave them the hell alone so someone who has a idea what there doing can fix them. How many times have you seen a third gen with body panels falling off on the street.

About 3 weeks ago my two year old son popped my car out of gear and crashed into my wifes bmw. I had just washed it and was stuffing the drivers side t-top in the bag when I looked up and saw my son sitting in the drivers seat. I had left the door open and he wasted no time hopping in. I should have set the top down and shoowed him out but I was almost done and the e brake was set. As soon as I looked down I heard the clank of the B&M shifter and felt the bumper hit my leg. Our driveway is pretty steep and by the time I jumped in the seat the car had alot of momentum. I stomped on the brakes but the rotors were wet and the car wasnt running so that did little to slow us down. As soon as I realized We were not slowing down the drivers door caught the bmw right behind the front passenger wheel and just dislocated itself, bent all the way around until it hit the front fender. Once my door had opened up 180 degrees it gouged its way down the side of the wifes car and finally stopped at the rear door.

Fortunatly no one was hurt, but walking in the house with my son crying knowing I had to tell my wife was not fun.
