Corvette Seats in a 3rd Gen.

Anyone ever installed a set of C5 front seats in a 3rd gen. I have a pair of Z06 seats I want to put in. They are going to be tight, but I think they will fit. Any suggestions?? My interior (including carpet) is out, so i can make custom mounts any way I have to.

I hope I can help after I get mine in. I haven't started yet. Keep me posted if you are doing the same project. I think I'm going to make a plate that the new seats bolts to, then weld it to the floor. Thats my latest plan.
Does anyone know if the corvette had a button for the heated seats on the dash or door?? I know the new chevy trucks have the control on the door. I have the buttons on the seats to move them, but there is no button for the heat. I havent figured out how to wire that yet.

why dont you just use stock fbody tracks 4th gen or 3rd gen.....then bold the z06 seats to that.. if (and you prob do) you need a adaptor plate made its only got to be a flat easy one to make....or you may beable to just drill new holes in the tracks for the bolts that go into the seats....or you may beable to drill and tap new bolt holes under the seat to line up with the track holes.

i looked on that site a bit harder and the guy who did it there says he just drilled new holes and used washers to fix any problems with alignment. i do'nt really know wat kind of alignment problems he can have if he got the adjustable seats.

take off your seat brackets and see what u get! Its not that easy to keep the tracks parallel and at the correct distance apart.

Washers were used to get the correct angle and height of the seat so that the adjustments are usefull

I did the same thing when I installed the C4 seats in my Formula. The stock seat tracks have a noticeable bow that rises upward that won't work with the vette seats. To keep mine as low as possible (I'm 6'6") I actually cut a notch in the vette seat bottom for the bowed section of track to fit into and also minimize the number of washers needed to get the correct seat angle. I also have plenty of clearance for the amplifiers underneath, which some people have had problems with.

I'm not that worried about angle because they are 8 way power, I figure I can get them to where they are compfortable. I am worried about getting them far enough forward. If I line up one of the front bolts, the back of the brackets is in the middle of the back seat floorboard. I can probably move the whole bracket on the seat, but I would rather leave the stock geometry of the seat and put new mounting bolts in the floor. (Thats todays thought anyhow). There are to many motors and air compressors under the seat to get carried away moving stuff under there.

I had a welding shop add about a 2" flat peice of metal to the main bracket which lets the seat sit back 2" more from the minimun adjustment. Im 6"O

I would love to see more pics of nosaits seats too!!
My buddy and I were looking at the seats and floor last night. I think we are going to flip flop the mounting ears on the seats. In other words put the mounting tabs from the front on the back, and vice versa. Then, we will weld plates in behind the orginal seat mount and put bolts through them for the back and just put bots trough the the floor in the front. I'm only 5'9", so i don't need all that leg room. I'd rather leave room in the back seat for passenger or two.
