I have an 87 IROC on some 17's (front) and 18's(back). I would have thought that the additional ground clearance that they provided would have been enough to get over my oil pan when hitting a speed bump. My major concerning is with the front lip/spoiler/ground effect. I am wanting to have the entire car painted soon, and I know im not the only one this happens too, but I don't want that thing scratching the ground everytime I pull into anything that has the slightest grade.
So.. how do I prevent that? Get new springs... raise the car?

if you want everything to be easy just raise the car, if you wanna know how to drive your car being angled lower, its gonna be a painful process. gfx i wouldn't worry about unless its a really steep hill, the oil pan and air dam however are going to to **** kicking unless you raise it a bit

hmm and it has 17's on the front? if it was stock height with 17 inch rims on the front i wouldn't think you would even have a scraping problem. if you like the look of the 2 diff size rims i'd raise it a bit still.

None of the pictures/links work. I've always wondered what a Camaro would look like with that wheel combination.
I think you need to get some custom springs and better shocks/struts to deal with the awkward angle without dragging on everything. There are some pretty low cars here that don't scrape as much as you describe.

the truth is the front end on these cars are just too long. the always hit parking curbs, speed bumps and anything higher than 4 or so inches. you could raise your car but why, lose handling and look. just paint the car and go sideways up everything you can. I dropped my car and at the right angle can get up my friends curb that has to be nearly 10 inches or more. she has an 89 the is not lowered and doesn't have to do as an extreme angle that I do but can be done, just need to learn the angles

1) back into all parking spaces - you are less likely to hit something liek that, as a parking curb will likely hit the tire before scrathcin the bumper of GFX.
2) enter all inclines at an angle, it really isn't that hard to do
Do not raise the damn car, it is fine like it is. The actual problem is that there is too much car in front of the front wheels. If you can fix that problem without it looking like crap, let us know.
