Needles not Moving after new gauges

i recently purchased some sweet overlays for my 91 z and got them on however my battery and temp seem to be the only gauges working. i didnt pull the needles up at all but i was wondering if there was another way to break them to where they wont turn or are they just stuck on the overlays???? anyone else ever ran into this problem?

Try pushing on the gauge cluster. Sounds like the plugs just aren't making full contact with the cluster

unless you can actually see them physically stuck on the overlays, I can't imagine that being a problem. Especially seeing it's every gauge. If they were stuck, I think they'd twitch at least a little because they're trying to move. The only thing I can think of, is hat the gauges aren't making full contact with the harnesses.

did you touch any of the wiring? If you moved the plugs, make sure you put them back in the right spot, and they're not reversed

i have the same problem. mine stick. i have to flick the gauge cluster to get them to move. it does that mostly with the oil pressure and the battery gauge. my fuel gauge died after i put the overlays in. i replaced the gauge, and now it works, but not accurately. it starts full and ends empty, but between there is a total mess, lol. im thinking next is the sending unit/pump. but not for a while.

well while i turn my key to the ON position the needles that work will move like they are supposed to but when if let the key go they fall back down and seem to stick on the gauge overlays. however the other gauges (speedo, tach, fuel maybe) dont move at all. im gonns try to move the overlay wires around to see if i am not making full contact and then il will try to remove the overlays and see if they were the problem. if not im up a creek........
