Who's covered their camaro dash pad?

My pad cracked so I bought one off ebay that was supposed to be crack free. It's not. The crack is not bad but it's still there and I'm thinking about covering it so I don't have to worry about it again.

But I'm wondering how would I make the molded speaker grill look right if I covered it with leather or something.

Thanks, Mike

well, i bought a dash cover from year one, its kinda like carpet. it has cutouts for the vents, but not for the speakers, theyre supposed to not stop any sound. i think it looks alright, better than the spiderweb of cracks i had anyway, and its easy to take in and out and cleans real easy

My firebird had a black carpetted dash cover in it when I bought it. I assume it's there to cover up the crack going down the center. It looks good, and it doesn't impair the front speakers at all. As an added bonus, I store my registation/insurance and other important papers under it. It's like the glove box I never had!

I don't have one but I have seen a dash cover different than the one in the pic above; more of an overlay. It is a rigid plastic one that is stuck to the original dash with 3M VHB tape. It was $80 or so. I will try to find it again and post the link or the info. From what I could tell, it looked pretty nice and you couldn't really tell it was an overlay.
