T-top roof bar powdercoated

Anyone had their t-top roof bar powder coated black?

I'm doing a complete repaint of my 89 TA and the roof bar needs replacing due to rust. *** a nice one to replace it but there is some surface rust in a couple of places and the top part (visible part between the rooof panels) is scratched and will look bad once I have the new paint and new weatherstripping.

I can have the whole thing powder coated but as the middle piece is not painted originaly but instead have some sort of plastic coating I wonder what it will look like if I do powder coat the whole thing and also of course will this last (thinking of exposure to the elements like sun and rain....)

Thanks

Jan

Great, thanks! The guys I typicly use always media blast the parts and they turn out great. Was just worried it would not last as the part is exposed to the elements.

I've had a number of parts coated already (complete flip up headlights units etc) and they all came out great.
