Replace the rusty wheel well perimeter

Like most of our cars that weren't taken care of, mine has rust on the quarter just on the inner wheen well lip.

Don't they make a piece that just covers this lip so you don't have to get into taking out spot welds and so forth? Because other thatn the rust the 1/4 is in good shape.

I'm looking for the u shaped piece that goes around the wheel perimeter - does anyone know what its called or where to get it? I at least want to try this method before replacing the whole 1/4.

Thanks

The wheel well in my car is partially rotted so last fall I found a guy who had a parts car with a solid wheel well. I gave him 20 bucks and showed up with a sawzall and cut the whole thing out so I can trim it to fit nice and weld it in there. Maybe you could find a parts car with a good quarter lip and do something similar??

The only replacement parts Ive seen for sale are full quarter panels or half panels but they still go up past the wheel well.

Have you installed the salvaged fender yet? I am wondering if the weld is week or a PITA to weld together.

No I havent put the piece in yet because my car is still burried in snow but I should have it in there in about a month or so hopefully. It shouldnt be very hard it will just take some time to weld it in nicely, and then grind down the welds, and I also have to make sure I dont go too fast and warp the piece.
