95Z cluster in 91 Bird (pics!)

I wired up my gauges tonight. Almost every wire color matched up to the 4th gen harness, except the speedometer. i'll post how I wired it later. For now though, some pics of it working! Sorry it's so blurry, but you get the idea.

I'm not sure if the speedometer is working properly, since the car is parked in my garage and I didn't want to move all the cars parked behind me or drive around with a bunch of wires hanging around. It should though... from what I've read a 3.1 VSS works at 4000PPM.

The tachometer is off. It's jumpy, and reads a little high. I'm going to try to put a tach in from a 3.4 cluster, and see if that works. If not I'll buy the conversion box from Dakota Digital.

The fuel gauge also works perfect. As do all the other gauges.

The air bag light is on because I removed the airbag steering wheel when I took the dash out.

This weekend I hope to wire the HVAC and somehow fabricate the airbox to work with the new dash, just like it should.

So, what do you guys think?

When i removed my airbag wheel to swap it with a 87 Firebird 3 spoke wheel, i just removed the bulb for it from the cluster and pulled the fuse in the fuse box and voila' no light.

Yah, that's what I was planning on doing. I've got a new airbag-less steering wheel. I think it's from a Formula. It's in waaaaay better shape than my old one. The old one was flaking off on the rubber grips, and the airbag cover was warped, but not blown.

The speedometer works perfect.

I plugged in the 3.4 Tach, and it was just as off as the Z28 one is. I guess I'm going to be buying the Dakota Digital box.
