Cheapest way for Aero style wing for a Taiwanese
Hi everybody
I am the thirdgen member in Taiwan, actully, there are only few firebirds still running on the street of Taiwan(Camaro never imported), we all got the same body style like Firebird, no GFX, standard spoiler, I saw your car and knew that there are still some choice for the spoiler, they all look great, those spoiler raise the tail of the car, that is thirdgen's porblem, they don't looks aggressive when the tail go down, so GM develop those spoiler which very different to the standard one (IMO)
I would like to buy a different wing for my bird and surprise the people here (they love Japan car now and think that US car are stupid)
The problem is .....the new one is fxxking expensive...the size is crazy too, this also happen on the Ram Air II hood....even I accept the price but the shipping still go fxxking expensive and danger, I am think to buy a used one and ask them to cut it in half......
Is there any people can help me?? or any suggestion?
**BTW, I bought a set of used GFX on the third gen borad classified but they never arrived, the toal is US150 but the thing I care is I may be cheated by a thrid gen member......

Hi, great to hear there is 3rd Gen's in Taiwan as well. I know of a few in Japan and I even have a Japanese 3rd Gen brochure.
I own a 3rd Gen I keep here in the United Kingdom and I also have another one in Sweden (I'm Swedish originaly but moved to England 7 years ago).
Anyway to answer your question, the cheapest way would be to see if you could ship the spoiler with some company importing stuff (or cars) from the US. This way you could have it shipped in the US to their warehouse and they would take it in the container to Taiwan. I've done this with lareg items to Sweden, this way you would split the cost of shipping.
Other option is of course if you visit the US at some point you could actually take it with you on the plane (I've done this with a complete exhaust system for my 89, and a complete rear seat for my 84, and also a complete new front bumper for my 89 as well as the glasfiber rear spoiler for my 89). The spoiler is made of glasfiber so it's very light and the airlines would let you take it with you if you don't have to much other luggage.
Best Regards

thanks alot, I think Japanese is crazy and much rich than Taiwanese
I should check the company here which import car parts, but as I know, they will not "help", one of them try to charge me US150 for parts which I bought from thirdgen resource for 1/3 of that price, the reason I sometime like foreigner better is, Taiwanese is more greedy and not honest enough (in average).
I do have friends live in Canada and Guam, but I don't want to trouble them...I wish I can visit America as often as you did....
I got a problem to find rim in Taiwan, there is rim for thirdgen, PCD 120.65mm is not popular, how about you?? I use BMW rim to instead now...

Those Japanese heat extractor hoods are crazy expensive, probably even in Japan (they're carbon fiber).
Your best bet also is to just keep saving money for the parts you want to buy, and buy everything at once from one source. This will save you a lot of $$$ in shipping, and $150 won't be all that bad.
