misaligned hatch? how to adjust?

I have a friend who didn't know my hatch was motorized and in a caveman like style he went jumping up and down trying to shove it down now its misaligned. Does anyone know how to adjust it properly? I have tried everything from messing with the motor to replacing the struts (which needed replacement anyway) and I can't figure it out. The last thing to try but that im weary about trying is the nuts that attach the glass to the car. I'm not sure if that can get bent from something like that? any suggestions?

thanks

He probably loosened the decklid bolts when he shoved it down, causing the decklid to stick out. There was a thread not too long ago about realigning the hatch/decklid.
