Dashpad help

I installed a different dashpad last year and now it just rattles and every bump I hit it bounces so hard is sounds like it is cracking. What can I do to fix this?

Make sure its bolted down in front and back.
Inside the defroster ducts about 4 bolts/screws and make sure the front bolted down.
If so then remove it and throw in some caulk, glue, rubber strips , or like foam for some weatherproofing like to reduce rattles and junk. Like carpet padding or something.

Also, there are supposed to be two foam peices that are under your dash pad, around the center that support the center, if you don't have them that might help cause some rattles. If you do and everything is bolted down I would put some adhesive backed velcro (soft side, but probably dosn't matter) around where the dash pad mounts. Try and stay away from caulk though, that causes a mess and kinda glues it together.

The foam pieces are in there and its all bolted so maybe I will take it off and put the velcro in and try that. Thanks for the input.

Well.. if it didn't jump around before the "new" pad went in, then something went back in wrong and/or broke. I would just take it out.... look for something that looks out of place or broken. If nothing looks wrong.... put the -old- dash pad back in. If the old one now makes noises and/or bounces around, then you know you did something wrong somewhere putting the new one in.. or taking the old one out the first time.

I dont have the foam pieces in my Camaro dash. Haven't for years. My dash doesn't make noises or move. Not saying it wouldn't hurt to put them in, but it won't cause the dash to bounce around... or doesn't for me at least. Heck.. I only have 3 screws in the front (plus the 4 in the "back") holding it down and mine still doesn't make noise
