Rear Hatch Panel

Can I use the panel off a 91 Firebird (the panel behind the rear glass which the brake light and spoiler mount to) on my 90 Formula with the larger wrap around spoiler and the third brake light on the panel (unlike the 91 with the 3rd brake light in the glass)? Can I just use my old panel as a template and drill the correct size holes? These panels are identical from 90 91 correct? Also how do you seal the panel to the rear glass. And any advice on removing the panel, dont the mounting bolts go through the rear glass is there a wrong or right way to remove this panel? Thanks for any help.

Hey man! What's up?

I'm pretty sure you can. You'll probably have to drill for the wiring though, like you said.

I doubt it's even worth it to look for a new panel.. I'd say you should just go to a salvage yard and pick one up. It's not exactly a piece that is going to have a lot of damage on it. Maybe a bit of surface rust, but that's easy to get rid of with a quick once over with sand paper.. or just get it off the next car that is in better shape.
