First off, im going to be getting my car painted at Macco in the next couple of weeks. Maybe a local body shop but cost is a big factor. My car is kept outside so Im not looking to spend big bucks and im on a college budget

I will be doing all the prep and body work myself to minimize the costs. Should I/do I need to primer my car? Its an 83 with original paint. Would it be better to primer it? I dont have a spray gun so it would have to be by can, so I dont know if it would be worth it. Let me know what you guys think.
