TA vs. Formula 4th Gen Leather Seats
What's the difference between the two (Trans Am and Formula 4th gen Leather Seats)? Which are more comfortable? Do they look the same?
I am looking to put a set in my 88 formula. I sought out after only TA seats, but I have found a set of '00 Formula seats, for a good price.
I have heard that the Formula seats are the same except they don't have the inflatable lumbar support, is this true?
Thanks for the help,
KZad

I don't think there were particularly any seats specific to Formulas and Trans Ams. I think it all depended on what trim levels were ordered. There were standard buckets and there were also the "GT" buckets. The standard buckets could be had with or without power options(no power, power track, power track & lumbar/side bolsters). The GT buckets have a tiltable headrest, a manually tiltable driver's seat, and power lumbar and side bolsters, but I haven't ever seen them with a full power track. I could be mistaken about all this, but from what I've seen this is how the cars were available. For instance I got GT seats out of a '97 T/A and I have power lumbar and side bolsters, but my dad's '00 T/A has the standard buckets with full power driver's seat track and power lumbar and side bolsters. From what I can see it all depends on what trim level was opted for, not specifically whether the car was a Formula or Trans Am. Here's a pic of the "GT" seat installed in my '84 T/A

Hope I helped a little...
