Awesome!!!! That center console restoration is out of this world! Is it still holding up?
and p.s, what year is your car? And it's a camaro right? Just wondering 'cause I've never seen one that has the torx screws around the square piece behind the shifter.

there out there for less than 100.00.
i also think it looks kinda hacked. if there was some foam under the vynle and the corners rounded better it would look fine. get some foam and shape it and use that 3m spray glue and some heat and you can get that material to wrap smooth, you may need to make some small cuts in the corners underneith to get it to make the turn.
good effort though, it is better than what ya had started with.

The problem isnt the wood console , its that it looks like crap. If it was covered and looked nice i wouldnt have a problem.

Regardless of what the stock ***** think, that lid looks a million times better than the stock one.

I figured think that after 2400 posts, you'd have that cynical attitude worked out by now.
That's the difference between me and SC82TA, I wouldn't have just told you to go die.
Good job man, I know where you're coming from not having a ton of money to spend. I have a lot more respect for the guy at the car show with his half finished, customized muscle car, than the civic next to him with $15,000 of brand new, aftermarket interior parts.
P.S. And for the record… I show my car 2 or 3 times a week all summer… and everything repaired in my interior has been done by me. Should I give my awards back?

He has an 82 Trans Am, those wont work for him. I remember him saying he can only use the 82-84 firebird lids I think, and that they are hard to find in good condition.

I still plan on re-doing it to get the corners perfect, but I've ran into a few mechanical problems that need more attention first. I did find a pretty much mint 82-84 Firebird dashpad that's in there now, mine had a few nasty cracks in it.
Like I said, my car was in pretty sorry condition, and slowly I'm putting it all together and trying to get it to look good again. I saved it from the previous owner that didn't really seem to care about it.
