Will old gauges on dash work due to swap?
My uncle and I did a 350 TPI swap and im just curious if the old dash is still going to work, the car it's in is an 83 trans am (formerly carbed). I am also curious as to how hard putting a 140 speedo in is, I know that my current one is mechanical and the newer ones are electric.

They should have electrical sensors in your 83 so your should be fine for you guages...I dunno what he did for tach etc, But other guages should be plug and go!

The only hookups needed would be for the coolant temp sender unit, oil pressure sending unit, and a tach wire to the negative side of the coil.
The speedo is cable driven, but to swap in an electric unit, you should check this out http://www.hioutput.com/tech/speedo.html
If you're swapping in just the speedo head, you can wire directly to it, but if you swap in the entire cluster, some rewiring is needed. Also the graphics on the electric speedo won't match the 82-84 gauges.
