I have an 87 z28 with the power seat option. All the switches work except for the center one it raises and lowers the seat but doesn't move it from front to back. Anyway I have bought new seats and I have all of them in except the driver. I cannot move the seat up to get to the back bolts. Any idea how I can get to the back bolts to get the seat out???? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Try cleaning the contact points on the switch.Remove the cover & separate the 2 halves of the switch.Maybe its just dirty...

sorry if im stealing your thread here but its totally related :P
what do all the swithes on the power seats do? ive got the 4 way manual adjuster, but the power seat has 3 switches, i cant even think of what other movements it makes (foward/back, tilt, ????, ????)

and has anyone ever repaired a broken power seat track?? actually the track is rusty as *!#@ but thats not really whats broken, it appears the drive wires that connect the motors to the track have broken.. i dunno ill ahve to look at it more tommorow

picked up some pmd seats on ebay, guy said the track needed work, he wasnt kidding... i installed the passenger seat onto the exisiting track yesterday.. its the hotness now, i have one grey drivers seat and one blue pmd passenger seat

Theres 3 switches.2 flip type on the outside & a 4way toggle inbetween. The forward switch tilts the front of the seat up/down.The rearward does the same for the rear of the seat. The toggle switch, toggle it forward for forward movement of the seat, toggle back to move seat back.toggle up lifts the seat w/out changing the fr/Rr tilt & down lowers seat again w/out changing tilt angle. As for the Drive cables. They look like flex cable almost like the kind a weedeater uses.Should be fixable, but ive never done one though....
