need help installing steering wheel!!!!

need help installing steering wheel!!!!

I can't get the lock plate to go in far enough to clip the c clip. What direction does teh upper race go? its the one the has the slots on one end and is tappered on the other end. any ideas on getting the lock plate on too? with out getting the tool for it?

I used 2 small flat head screw drivers...*shrug* its not so bad

yes but what direction does teh second race on the bearing go?

Its really really hard, that spring is tough and seams like it hung up, but it ain't.You need more help or rig it.

I have always had a problem getting that clip back on. Taken several GM cars apart. When I fixed my sloppy tilt I heated n shrunk the spring. I had no side effects but its was dam near impossible. I was tired and wanted my car back together.

yes i realize all that... what i need to know is teh direction of the race seat with the tapper on one side and slots on teh other side.
