Wheel adaptors, great price!

after looking around on the internet, i found a guy out of orange county ca. who custom builds wheel adaptors. he will build anything you want, and gaurantees everything. heres what he told me....

"I build them hub centric to insure no vibration problems. I also give you a lifetime warranty with the adapters. I build all of my products out of 6061t6 billet alluminum. I can build whatever you need to whatever specs. I am known for making any wheel fit any car. I can build two piece adapters from 5 to 4, 6 to 5, 5 to 6, 8 to 10, 8 to 5...... the list goes on! I can also do custom machine work on wheels, fill and drill, centerboring, back facing, drilling and inserting. I also chrome wheels and refinish them. I build all of my products in house on CNC Hass Machines. I also wholesale wheels and tires. I can get any wheel in the industrie. Axis, Giovanna, Niche, Neeper, Foose....... Let me know what you want and I can help you. If you have any questions feel free to call my cell phone at 909 844 0942. Please email me at jrwheelgod@aol.com. Any emails sent at night will be answered the following day. Any emails sent over the weekend will be answered on Monday morning. Thanks, and good luck. Ask for J.R.

his prices are the best that ive found! 140.00$ gets all four wheel adaptors for our cars (2 inch). but there is a 25$ shipping charge. still though, at a total of 165.00$, this price cant be beat. so if anyone needs adaptors, i highly recommend this guy!

skulte may have one of the most expensive that i've ever known but he races on them too. i've seen quite a few adapters that were pure junk. however, considering they are just a block of aluminum machined with a certain grade stud i don't really see it either.

try em' out.

I emailed him. I live and work in OC. However, his telephone number is a riverside number not a OC number. OC area codes are 714, 949 and sometimes 562. I would love to go by there and check them out. If they look good than I'll be the guinea pig for everyone

well i just emailed him and told him to go ahead and make me some, lol so i guess ill play guinea pig. but you guys that are interested, you might wanna hurry. he's giving us this price because i found him on ebay, and thats his ebay price. he only runs ebay adds in the winter, because business is kind of slow. he said in a couple of weeks, after work picks up, there will be no more ebay auctions, there for, no more 140.00$ adaptors. they should be shipped out wensday. ill keep everyone posted!

lilthurmy03:

You said you found this guy on eBay. Can you provide his eBay user ID? The email address you provided doesn't seem to appear in eBay's database.

Thanks...

EDIT: I found the answer to my own question. This guy has a feedback rating of 61 with no negatives. His auctions can be found here.

I sent him an email asking for pics of his centric cuts and info on type and length of studs. I'll post any response.

heres this guys company's website.

http://www.motorsport-tech.com

looks like a good place to me. and for those of yall wanting some adaptors, you have to tell him that you saw him on ebay. he might not give you the deal of 165.00$ shipped if you dont tell him that, i dunno though? thats just how i understood it, he would only do this for people interested in his "auctions". he's making mine right now and said they should be on their way by the end of the week. ill keep you posted.

I found him on ebay as well.

I thought about posting it but didn't want to take any money away from our sponsors since they contribute so much to this board.

I got the $140 + $25 shipping price as well, but be aware that it doesn't include lugs. So factor in an additional $30-40 depending on where you buy your lugs. Still a good deal, but a hidden cost of you're not thinking about it. I ordered 2" adapters all the way around and am just waiting on my next pay check so I can go get some tires for my 17" SS wheels.

The wheel adapters do seem to be made well, are light, and use Grade 10.9 studs that come 1.3" off the face of the adapter.

Here are some pics for those of you wondering:

Uh oh, it doesn't look like yours have the steel inserts... Is there a little insert in each of the holes where the acorn nut sits? I regretfully ordered from the jack-off Kenny (Jr.) at that EXACT company. It was a borderline ebay scam, I emailed 3 previous auction winners and they NEVER got theirs. I paid express shipping and it took MONTHS to get mine. I was VERY, VERY, VERY dissatisfied with the service. The adapters however kick butt at least and have the little black steel inserts to keep the nut from wearing into the aluminum (probably not vital, but was happy to see mine had them).

EDIT; Just thought I'd share his REAL rating with you, he changed his user name. At least he is selling them for less than I paid - Here's the link; http://cgi2.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAP...rid=jrwheelgod

RE-EDIT; His last positive was a transaction between the old seller name and the new one! That's fraud!!!

I think I'll stick with Skulte, my experience with parts is that cheap parts are cheap for a reason, and I'd rather not find out why when I'm goin down the strip at 120.

Yeah, the craftsmanship is very good, it's just the customer service end that's a joke. I've gone over 140mph on mine and it was smooooooth (no freaky wobbles or anything). Hopefully they'll withstand 160 or so next time Someday....

I worked though a guy named Neil. Adapters are good quality and price with no problems.

humh- good catch. Performance Wheel must have jacked their prices up or Andris lowered his. I checked before I bought (approx 1 year ago) and the Performance Wheel ones were much cheaper than Andris-
Anywho, thanks-

Any updates on these adaptors? lilthurmy03, did yours not come with the steel inserts? What is the importance of these inserts? Thanks

wheel adaptors work great! no they did not come with the steel inserts, and i STILL havent got any. but i only drive the car once in a blue moon because i have no insurence on it. so im only driving it to the body shop and places like that right now. anyways, i think the steel inserts just keep the nuts from cutting into the aluminum. i plan on getting them eventually, you can pick them up pretty much anywhere. take it easy.

Some of you guys might like a 2 1/4" or 2 1/2" wheel spacer more, if you like the rim to be more in line with the fenders. Personal choice, I woulda got my adapters in 2 1/4" if I was gonna do it again.

So do the steel inserts just pop into the holes? Where exactly can you get them if they aren't shipped with the adaptors. I'm glad to hear they are holding up.

Looks like you're right about his customer service. I've tried emailing him and calling him, and so far I have not heard back from him. Oh well, I'm not gonna sit around waiting for him to decide if he wants my business or not. Looks like I need to start saving up for skulte's.

I have dealed with him personally and I have nothing but praise from their company...I had to get my 18" Iroc rims filled and redrilled to the camaro bolt pattern and then had to get hub inserts...Beat everyones price and did it in a couple of days...I went to his shop (2 hour drive for me) and it looks like they have a pretty busy business...All in all, they gave me good service

I got my 2.25" adapters in the front from Andris. He recommended them for the offset of my ZR1's. I spoke to one of his reps over the phone and she said Andris would give me a call back. Sure enough, to my surprise!, about 15min later he called and I had my adapters on order right then and there. Great customer service and my adapters have been great to me so far.
